Join us in resisting the inaugural ceremony of Governor elect Ralph Northam. While Northam has remained silent regarding the Atlantic Coast Pipeline and Mountain Valley Pipeline we will not! We plan to be heard and will make sure everyone in attendance is aware that our water, our forests, and the health of our communities will not be sacrificed for the corporate greed of Dominion Energy and EQT Corp's fracked gas pipelines.
For those of you able to make it earlier we will start our day at 9:30!
9:30am : Meet up at 9th and E Grace St near the State Capitol. Once everyone is together we will divide up no pipelines prepared literature, break into two groups and hand out literature to the incoming crowd at both security check gates.
11am : Rejoin as unified group in front of the State Capitol at 9th and E Grace St (at the public outdoor screening area) with banners and signs. Wear blue! We plan to do chants and sing songs so bring your voices.
12pm : Inauguration Ceremony is scheduled to begin. We will begin a 'WATER IS LIFE' chant at this time. 12pm sharp.
1pm : Inauguration parade is scheduled to begin. For those of you able to stay for the parade we plan to continue holding signs and banners during the parade. Please join.
Weather: Chance of slight rain and in mid 30s (dress warm).
Pack: Pack something to eat and drink if you plan on staying through the inauguration.
Parking: Parking for the inauguration will be open to the public at the parking decks at 14th and Main streets, Seventh and Franklin streets, and Seventh and Marshall streets.
Shuttle: A complimentary shuttle service provided by the Northam Inaugural Committee will be available for public use. The shuttle will run from the Quirk, Omni and the Jefferson hotels directly to Eight and Broad streets.
