In recent months, we have seen the national conversation around race shift to how black, brown, and indigenous bodies are policed in public spaces, in neighborhoods, even in their own homes. How can we disrupt racist violence in our own backyards?
Join us this month as we discuss how community associations, HOAs, and other suburban social organizations and institutions uphold systemic racism. We will be collaborating about how we can build alternative models for safety in our communities.
We'll have snacks and treats. If you would like to help us provide hospitality (greeting, bringing food/beverages) at the meeting, please email us at surjnova at gmail dot com. Children and families are always welcome in our meetings.
