As the nation celebrates Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and his powerful legacy, we invite you to join us for our 4th Dr. King Day of Advocacy at the Virginia State Capitol that will be held on Monday, January 20, 2020 beginning at 8:30am in the Patrick Henry Building, East Reading Room.

The day will begin over breakfast as our guest legislators and state administrators address specific matters impacting our community. Matters such as Education, Criminal Justice Reform, Economic & Community Development, Environmental Justice and Gun Violence Prevention. Participants will have the opportunity to interact with each representative and gain vital information in regards to how they are addressing these matters. We will then hold a brief seminar on how to effectively advocate issues to those in a position of power and change. This seminar will be of use as participants will have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with their designated state representative after lunch!

Your participation in this dynamic day of education and advocacy would be greatly appreciated as it is our goal to provide participants a chance to see how their government is working for them.
