The 2020 General Assembly session is upon us – and we want to give you the tools to help make change in Annapolis.

“Citizen Activism: Making an Impact in Maryland” training will teach you how Maryland governance works and how you can influence the legislative process. The training will cover every aspect of the General Assembly session, and will give you the tools to follow the issues you care about and make a real impact on Maryland politics.

We'll be joined by coalition partners who will lead different sections of the training. Guest trainers include:

Toni Holness, ACLU of Maryland
Roy Appletree, League of Women Voters of Maryland
Joanne Antoine, Common Cause Maryland
Michelle Whittaker, RCV for Maryland

Training sections:
-How Bill Becomes Law, Dates to Watch, First Weeks of Session
-Bill Drafting to First Reader, Building Your Case, Committees in Action
-Lobbying Like a Pro
-Crossover Looms, Sine Die and Beyond

No matter what your policy preferences, no matter your political affiliation – if you want to have a bigger say on your political process in Maryland, this training is right for you! Don’t sit on the sidelines a moment longer – learn to take action that will make the Maryland you want to see.
